Would Scotland be better apart from the rest of the United
Kingdom? The clear answer to the question is Yes it would be. Our aim is to highlight the evidence and
information that will provide proof that we would be better off as an independent
country separate from the rest of the United Kingdom. During the referendum the better together campaign
used fear of the unknown to scare the Scottish people into voting to stay in
the United Kingdom.
The better together campaign claimed that Scotland would not
be able to continue as part of the European Union if it became a separate
country and this would cause its economy to crumble. Jobs would be lost as companies could no
longer trade in the free market of the European Union, the cost of living would
increase as the price of goods imported would increase. They even claimed that
they would erect border crossing between Scotland and England and you would
need a new passport to get into England as your British passport would no
longer be valid. They used fear to scare pensioners into voting no to
independence by threatening that their pension would be at risk if they left
the United Kingdom.
These lies and a campaign of fear of the unknown scared 55% of
Scottish people in to voting to stay
part of the United Kingdom with the promise that we would be better off together
and the only way to guarantee our place within the European Union. In the 2015 general election almost the
entire population of Scotland voted for the SNP with fifty six seats with the conservatives
and labour reduced to one seat each in Scotland. In 2016 the United Kingdom
held a referendum to decide if we should be part of the European, Union the overwhelming
majority of Scotland voted to stay in the European Union. But a campaign of fear and lies by the
Brexit campaign saw the United Kingdom as a whole vote to leave the European
Union.
Not only is Scotland governed by a conservative party that
it did not elect, it is also been taken out of the European Union against the
will of its people. The purpose of this site is to give people the information
to decide if we are better together or apart.
